Activision’s ports seem intentionally $10-20 more expensive on Xbox One than PS4

Today’s Transformers: Fall of Cybertron last- to current-gen re-release by Activision is $20 AUD more on Xbox One than on PS4, mirroring similar pricing discrepancies seen on recent Marvel: Ultimate Alliance releases.

Ultimate Alliance standalone titles are $49.95 AUD on PS4 and $59.95 on Xbox One. Chalking it up to a pricing error, we went to Activision for comment on the matter immediately. Stevivor has yet to receive a comment on the situation.

Today, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is priced at $49.95 AUD on PS4 and $69.95 on Xbox One. Pricing on both titles also appears to be askew in other regions like Canada, according to our readers. This second set of releases seems to suggest the pricing has intentionally been set and isn’t merely an error.

Activision does have a partnership with Sony in regards to the Call of Duty franchise, but it’s unclear if that link is merely a coincidence when it comes to pricing.

We have again asked Activision for comment on the matter and will report back as more is known.
