Resident Evil 4 demo TMP: Here’s how to get the secret weapon

Yay!

The Resident Evil 4 demo keeps surprising, with a secret TMP weapon now found within in. This post will not only show you how to find it, but show off the TMP in action.

If you’d like the TMP, you’ll need to do the following:

  • After the cutscene with the villager in the house, you’ll finally be able to enter your inventory
  • Discard every single item in your possesion (handgun, knife and first aid spray)
  • Pick up the key that the villager has dropped to continue through the demo
  • Don’t pick anything else up; basically, just run past all villagers until you get to the village itself
  • Enter the village, loop around to the right and behind the houses there, and you’ll see a well that used to be blocked off now available to climb down into
  • Head down, loop around and grab the TMP in the chest

There’s also a couple healing items and submachine gun (TMP) ammo in the same area. Once that’s done, let loose!

The TMP also appears to remain in your inventory once you’ve collected it, so you’ll be able to use it in subsequent runs without needing to go through the process above. It may come in handy for the demo’s extreme difficulty Mad Chainsaw Mode.

A video detailing how to do this is also below and shows off the TMP in action.

The Resident Evil 4 remake heads to Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 from 24 March 2023; we previewed it earlier in the week.
