The Destiny 2 Invitations of the Nine quest is available, and we’ve all you need to know in order to get through the nine-week quest. Hope you’ve got some time on your hands.
If you’re unfamiliar with how the quest works, it’s pretty simple — you’ll need to go and meet Xur, Agent of the Nine, when he appears inside Destiny 2. For us Aussies, that’s from 3.00 am AEST on Saturday until sometime on Monday. Xur’s location changes, so we’ll try to keep you updated week-to-week.
- Xur’s current location: Winding Cove, the EDZ (27 May 2019)
You’ll need to find Xur each week and buy an Invitation to complete and further the quest line. Each week’s quest will cost nine Legendary Shards. Thankfully, you can complete the week’s invitation at your leisure; you’re not forced to get this done in nine weeks straight. That’s said, if you want a new invitation week-to-week, you’ll need to complete your tasks ahead of the weekly reset, 3.00 am AEST Wednesday here in Australia.
Week 1 Invitation: The World
This requires the following:
- Complete the Lake of Shadows Strike
- Collect nine Cabal samples from the EDZ
- Collect nine Taken samples from the EDZ
- Collect nine Fallen samples from the EDZ
Once complete, look to the Gambit icon in the Director to be issued with a special treat (or two).
Week 2 Invitation: Justice
This requires the following:
- Complete the Savathun’s Song Strike
- Collect nine Hive samples from Titan
- Collect nine Fallen samples from Titan
Once complete, look to the Gambit icon in the Director to be issued with a special treat (or two).
Week 3 Invitation: The High Priestess
This requires the following:
- Complete the Inverted Spire Strike
- Collect nine Vex samples from Nessus
- Collect nine Cabal samples from Nessus
- Collect nine Fallen samples from Nessus
Once complete, look to the Gambit icon in the Director to be issued with a special treat (or two).
Week 4 Invitation: The Magician
This requires the following:
- Complete the Pyramidion Strike
- Collect nine Cabal samples from Io
- Collect nine Fallen samples from Io
- Collect nine Vex samples from Io
Week 5 Invitation: Strength
This requires the following:
- Complete the Garden World Strike
- Collect nine Hive samples from Mercury
- Collect nine Vex samples from Mercury
- Collect nine Cabal samples from Mercury
Week 6 Invitation: The Twins
- Complete the Strange Terrain Strike
- Collect nine Hive samples from Mars
- Collect nine Cabal samples from Mars
Week 7 Invitation: The Tower
- Complete the Hollowed Lair Strike
- Collect nine Hive samples from The Tangled Shore
- Collect nine Scorn samples from The Tangled Shore
- Collect nine Vex samples from The Tangled Shore
Week 8 Invitation: The Hanged Man
- Complete the Corrupted Strike
- Collect nine Hive samples from The Dreaming City
- Collect nine Scorn samples from The Dreaming City
- Collect nine Taken samples from The The Dreaming City
Week 9 Invitation: Death
- Complete 9 total Crucible matches:
- 3 Quick Play completions
- 3 Competitive completions
- 3 Rumble completions
