Daymare 1998 Achievements guide: Conquer H.A.D.E.S.

This Daymare 1998 Achievements guide has been designed with the Windows PC version of the game but should work well for the title’s upcoming release on both Xbox One and PS4.

There are a number of collectible Achievements alongside chapter-specific ones and the like. To make it easy to follow, we’ve grouped everything you’ll need to do with each chapter in one place. Let’s get to it!

Daymare 1998 Chapter 1 Achievements

Chapter 1 general Achievements

Before playing Chapter 1, keep these general Achievements in mind:

  • Jurassic theft: Shoot the shaving cream can (this is on the floor in Chamber 4 after finishing a temperature puzzle)
  • Chapter 1: Complete chapter one (story-based; cannot be missed)
  • Butcher: Cast off 50 enemy limbs (you can work on this throughout the game; shoot at zombies’ arms to break ’em off)
  • Boxer: Knockback 20 enemies using melee attacks (you can work on this throughout the game; use the shoot button without the aim trigger held down to initiate a melee attack)
  • Chemist: Craft every type of rapid use fluid (see below)
    • Health: Hexacore Additive with Energy Drink
    • Stamina: Hexacore Additive with Epinephrine
    • Mental: Hexacore Additive with Mental Drops
    • Health + Health
    • Health + Stamina
    • Health + Mental
    • Stamina + Stamina
    • Stamina + Mental
    • Mental + Mental
  • Free hugs: Free yourself from 20 grabs (you’ll get this naturally throughout play as there are some jump scare zombies that are hard to avoid in your first playthrough)
  • Take your time: Utilize 100 slow reloads (you can work on this throughout the game; prep a magazine and then hold the X button on PC/Xbox One reload)
  • Quick hands: Utilize 100 fast reloads (you can work on this throughout the game; tap the X button on PC/Xbox One to eject a magazine and swap with another. Pick up the magazine from the floor and rinse and repeat if you wish!)

Daymare 1998 Chapter 2 Achievements

Chapter 2 general Achievements

Before playing Chapter 2, keep these general Achievements in mind (alongside long-running ones from previous chapters):

  • What is IT?: Shoot the red balloon (as Liev, you’ll see a big red ballon after passing through a second house. Shoot the balloon and look into the nearby drain for kicks!)
  • Wrong turn: Find the arrow in the tree (as Sam, you’ll head from your tower and head down a path. The red arrows are in a tree on the left of the path. Examine them.)
  • File still open: Find the branded oak barrel (as Sam, you’ll get a shotgun and move through a barn with pigs. After exiting, look for the barrel — and knife — on the right.)
  • Stabbed: Find the movie poster (as Sam, you’ll be given override cables from a mysterious doctor. Head backward one room, hack the door and you’ll find the Scream-like poster at the back left-hand side of the room.)
  • Trader: Perform 10 exchanges at an H.I.V.E. terminal (you’ll work on this throughout the game; your first opportunity is in the first secret room that’s story-based and can’t be missed as Sam.)
  • Maverick: Find playing cards (as Sam, you’ll enter an H-shaped area with locked access to the garden. The playing cards are on a table in one of the four hospital rooms off this area.)
  • Daymare syndrome: Shoot at 5 false enemies (as Sam, you’ll encounter imaginary enemies as part of his hallucinations. Make sure to shoot enemies and this’ll pop through gameplay.)
  • Wrong melee: Perform a melee attack on the Melted Man (the Melted Man looks a bit like Swamp Thing; be aware that meleeing him will likely result in your death.)
  • Hijacker: Hack into a “very hard” terminal (your first opportunity to do this is as Sam; after getting the boltcutters, you’ll come across three zombies who pop out of a locked room. Go into that new room and this terminal is there.)
  • Gunslinger: Get the magnum (as Sam, once you use the boltcutters and get into the garden area, this is beside a zombie who also has a document.)
  • Chapter 2: Complete chapter two (story-based; cannot be missed)

Daymare 1998 Chapter 3 Achievements

Chapter 3 general Achievements

Before playing Chapter 3, keep these general Achievements in mind (alongside long-running ones from previous chapters):

  • Invader Studios hires: Find the programmer’s corpse (as Raven, exit the room you start in and head down the corridor to the right. Example the corpse in the chair. You can also get this as Sam if needed.)
  • Green thumb: Find the chemical formula mural (As Raven, solve the Gun Shop puzzles, then head to the Hexacore secret room and the newly accessible save room. Leave, head up the stairs and down the street and look for a small area with a chalk drawing on the left. The colourful V-JOLT formula mural is on the wall.)
  • Problem solving: Find the barrelled corpse (As Raven, go up a long spiral staircase in the sewers and then head down a corridor. Turn right and look for a room with lots of barrels; example the open one with the corpse.)
  • Rat sterminator: Find the sewer pinball (As Raven, once you go through a really heavy door after draining some water, explore the next set of tunnels for a Sterminator 2.1 pinball machine in the sewers.)
  • Back in time: Find the flux capacitator (As Raven, go into the car service station and look for the DeLorean inside. Look to the nearby switch to find the flux capacitoy on a nearby table.)
  • Hand cannon: Get the desert eagle (As Raven, press the switch beside the DeLorean to raise it; this is on a body underneath.)
  • Déjà vu: Wait for the suggestion (As Raven, sit at the damn entrance code puzzle until he speaks. With that done, the passcode is 91455.)
  • Chapter 3: Complete chapter three (story-based; cannot be missed)

Daymare 1998 Chapter 4 Achievements

Chapter 4 general Achievements

Before playing Chapter 4, keep these general Achievements in mind (alongside long-running ones from previous chapters):

  • Blown away: Find the exploded corpse (As Sam, get to the save room and continue on into the wreckage of the gas leak explosion. Check the corpse in the middle of the room.)
  • Where’s the fog?: Find the dead viewer (As Sam, go through the Black Jack pub and pass the Melted Man. To its right, you’ll find the Cheryl Hotel. Enter, head upstairs and look for the corpse on a chair watching TV.)
  • Primitive experiments: Find the science magazine (As Sam, once you finish off the miniboss, enter the locked room to open the final gate and look for the magazine on the shelf.)

Daymare 1998 Chapter 5 Achievements

Chapter 5 general Achievements

Before playing Chapter 5, keep these general Achievements in mind (alongside long-running ones from previous chapters):

  • Games of war: Find the tris game (As Raven, when the chapter starts, turn around and check the rightmost monitor — it’s displaying a game of Xs and Os.)
  • 4th of July: Find the researcher’s corpse (As Raven, you’ll encounter Mason and fight the Abomination. After the boss battle and cutscene meeting Mason, inspect the bloodied corpse stuck to the window.)
  • Codename Broken Arrow: Find the H.A.F. plate (As Raven and after Mason and the save soom, you’ll escape opening 3 doors via QuickTime events. After the third door, look for writing that says “H.A.F. Room” on the right. When you see that, examine the plaque to the left of the door and continue your escape.)

Following all the videos above will earn you the Surgeon, Bookworm, Disc jockey, Hound and Hunting season Achievements.

Daymare 1998 completion Achievements

The following Achievements are also on offer and are earned through completing the game:

  • Slaughter: Finish the game on Daymare Mode
  • Runner: Finish the game in 4 hours or less
  • Immortal: Finish the game without dying

Daymare 1998 is available on Windows PC and heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 28 April.
