Microsoft has now detailed how backwards compatibility will work on the Xbox One.
First, 100 Xbox 360 titles will work with backwards compatibility when the service is launched.
Inserting an Xbox 360 disc into your Xbox One console will kickstart the backwards compatibility process.
““It’s designed to be very simple: you stick the disc in, you download the game and then you’re ready to play it,” Xbox’s Yusuf Mehdi confirmed with Kotaku.
The service will be free for all Xbox One users. Preview Program members get access now, while the rest of us will have to wait until the holiday season.
We’ll continue to report on the service as we learn more.
