Watch Dogs scheduled for a late May release

After a delay that moved the game from a November 2013 current-gen launch, Ubisoft has today confirmed that they’ll let the Watch Dogs out on 27 May.

Yeah, we know… it’s Friday; we’re allowed one pun.

The release is a global one, so Australians can look forward to getting the title just a little earlier than other gamers.

Moreover, the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game will feature an addition 60 minutes of content via a partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment.

“We’re really excited for the launch of Watch Dogs on both PS3 and PS4 and are confident that it will prove to be one of the standout games of 2014,” said Michael Pattison, Vice President, Third Party Relations, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. “It’s a unique and visionary game and we believe that the exclusive content available via PSN will not only excite gamers, but showcase how PlayStation is a preferred destination for Watch Dogs.”

Watch Dogs will see its PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions released on 27 May 2014. A Wii U version is still planned for a release some months after.
