Zion Williamson is the next-gen console NBA 2K21 cover star

Zion Williamson has today been named as the NBA 2K21 next-gen console cover athlete, joining current-gen console cover star Damian Lillard and a final athlete to be named tomorrow.

Williamson, the 2019 #1 overall pick, consensus 2019 National College Player of the Year and current New Orleans Pelicans star will appear on the covers of the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions of this year’s basketball sim.

“Being on the cover of NBA 2K has been a dream since I was a kid and to be the first NBA 2K21 cover athlete for the next-generation of gaming is really special,” Williamson said.

“Since the day I joined Team 2K, I’ve wanted to make an impact on basketball culture both on and off the court, and being the cover athlete for NBA 2K21 on next-gen consoles lets me do that. I can’t wait to be part of this global phenomenon and hoop with all the ballers out there on NBA 2K21.”

Williamson will also partner with NBA 2K for 2K Foundations, “2K’s program to support underserved communities by revitalizing basketball courts and community centers across the nation, will work directly with Zion to renovate a site in New Orleans for the local community,” 2K advised.

NBA 2K21 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Switch and Stadia where available later this year. Williamson’s full packshot can be viewed below.
