Youtube launches 1080p, 60fps live streaming

Youtube has announced today the launch of 60fps live streaming, at both 1080p and 720p resolutions. Currently available for HTML5 compatible browsers, Youtube has specifically singled out gaming streams with the improvements.

Youtube has worked with the developers of Elgato and XSplit software to ensure compatibility, with new versions of their streaming software that supports Youtube’s new capabilities available now. HTML5 playback also enables Youtube live streams to support variable speed playback, allowing viewers to rewind, and watch at faster speeds.

You can check out the Youtube creators blog for more information on the updates.
