World of Tanks celebrates 4 years on console, Lunar New Year

World of Tanks will celebrate its 4-year console anniversary and the Lunar New Year with two new events.

First, the four-year console anniversary of World of Tanks will reward those in its 14 million player base, offering a free in-game tank alongside boosts to XP. The Japanese Tier II Ashigaru Te-Ke tank will be gifted to all players to login to the game and win a single match in February.

Additionally, an XP-multiplying War Party event will finish today on 12 February.

“We are proud to be celebrating our four year anniversary with our tankers,” said TJ Wagner, Executive Producer and Project Lead at Wargaming West. “The dedication of the World of Tanks community has made every success in this game possible, and we look forward to sharing our combined passion for many more years to come – not only with new content, but also surprising additions in the near future.”

Moreover, World of Tanks will celebrate Lunar New Year with the Lucky 88 Raffle, special tournament and other special events over on the PC iteration of the title. Limited to the Asia-Pacfic region, the Lucky 88 Raffle will take place between 16-23 February.

Finally, World of Tanks will offer free-to-play weekends on Xbox One between 16-19 February. Those on Xbox One will not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription to play during this time.
