He's the Emperor of the Terran Empire!
Star Trek The Next Generation‘s Wil Wheaton will reprise his role (of a sort) as Wesley Crusher in Star Trek Online, set to appear as the Mirror Universe’s Terran Emperor.
Update: Star Trek Online Ascension is now available on Xbox and PlayStation, introducing players to the new Terran Emperor, Wesley Crusher. The console release joins an existing PC iteration.
“Millions of Star Trek fans from around the world were shocked by the Season 2 finale of Star Trek: Picard, when Wheaton made a cameo at the end of the episode as The Traveler, marking his official return to the Star Trek universe in over 35 years,” Paramount and Gearbox said today in a press release.
“Star Trek Online is proud to continue that legacy by welcoming him to the game as Emperor Wesley Crusher when Ascension launches on PC September 13 and on consoles at a later date,” it continued.
The update will also introduce new missions starring the Mirror Universe’s Captain Killy (Mary Wiseman, Star Trek Discovery) and Admiral Leeta (Chase Masterson, Star Trek Deep Space Nine).
Players will also be able to take part in a new event called “The Emporer’s Will” to earn a T6 Terran Sommerville starship.
Star Trek Online is available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. A special Star Trek Day museum is currently available in-game.
