There’s more to The Phantom Pain’s save-breaking bug than just Quiet

Konami had explained that the save-breaking bug in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain isn’t as simple as once thought.

Previously, Konami advised that taking Quiet as your companion during episodes 29 or 42 in-game would potentially corrupt Phantom Pain saves. Now, Konami has declared that it’s more complex.

Quiet is still able to accompany your main character on said missions. The potential save-breaking bug is instead triggered by using the Butterfly emblem as part of your avatar alongside Quiet, or maxing out your bond level with Quiet during said operations.

Konami advised it is working on a patch for the save-breaking bug.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is available now on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and Windows PC. Check back soon for our thoughts.
