Supermassive’s The Quarry has today been detailed, including its setting, release date, pre-order bonuses and special editions.

The Quarry setting
“As the sun sets on the last day of summer camp, the teenage counselors of Hackett’s Quarry throw a party to celebrate. No kids. No adults. No rules,” publisher 2K said of the newly announced title. “Things quickly take a turn for the worse.”
“Hunted by blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister, the teens’ party plans unravel into an unpredictable night of horror. Friendly banter and flirtations give way to life-or-death decisions, as relationships build or break under the strain of unimaginable choices,” 2K’s description continued.
“Play as each of the nine camp counselors in a thrilling cinematic tale, where every decision shapes your unique story from a tangled web of possibilities. Any character can be the star of the show – or die before daylight comes.”
The Quarry also features some huge names when it comes to horror, including David Arquette (Scream; shown below), Lance Henriksen (Aliens), Lin Shaye (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and more.
Like other Supermassive games before it, The Quarry will offer up a Movie Night mode to “enjoy [it] as a binge-worthy cinematic thriller”. Multiplayer is on offer, but cross-play or cross-generation play on Xbox and PlayStation is not.
The Quarry release date
Players can expect The Quarry from 10 June 2022 across Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
Pre-order bonuses are up for grabs right up until that 10 June release date.
The Quarry special editions
The Quarry will be offered up in a standard or Deluxe Edition, with the latter containing a range of extra goodies.
The Deluxe Edition includes the following:
- Gorefest option in Movie Mode
- Instant access to Death Rewind system
- Horror History Visual Filter Pack (also a pre-order bonus; see below)
- ’80s Throwback character outfits (available on or by 8 July 2022)
The Deluxe Edition also provides access to last- and current-gen versions of the title on Xbox or PlayStation.

The Quarry pre-order bonuses
Pre-order bonuses come in the form of a filter pack that lets you change the look and feel of the game.
“Choose from an 8mm-style film grain (Indie Horror), a retro VHS aesthetic (’80s Horror), or the classic black-and-white cinematic filter (Classic Horror),”2K said, adding that the Horror History Visual Filter Pack is included in the Deluxe Edition and will also be available for separate purchase.
Expect The Quarry on 10 June 2022; the horror title will be available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
