The Phantom Pain runs at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One

Well, well, well. Looks like those Xbox One fans defenders have yet another thing to try and justify as Konami has revealed the specs for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

While the PS4 version will run at 1080p (as expected and per usual) the Xbox One version will display at the lesser 900p. While it’s not as embarrassing as Titanfall’s 792p, it’s a blow for Xbox One owners who actually care about how good their games look.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will run at 60fps while the PS3 and Xbox 360 will both display at 720p and 30fps. The PC version will be the leader of the pack displaying at 4K and 60fps.

There’s no explanation as to why the Xbox One displays at a lower resolution, but you may remember that Ground Zeroes on Xbox One only displayed at 720p so at least it’s a step up for Microsoft’s console.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 1 September.
