The original composer for Final Fantasy VII will not be involved in the remake

Final Fantasy VII composer Nobuo Uematsu will not be updating his score for the upcoming remake.

Uematsu was asked in a recent interview whether or not he would be working on the remake of Final Fantasy VII to which he replied “not at all.” This may come as a shock to die hard fans of the series considering that Uematsu has worked on most of the original scores for the Final Fantasy series. Square Enix had already stated that they were not making a simple remaster of the original so it will remain to be seen how they handle the score.

For now, relax and listen to one of my favourites.
