Texas Chain Saw Massacre game release date set for 18 August

And that's a special day to fans...

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game release date has been set for 18 August, Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham recently declared.

The 18 August release date holds a special meaning to Texas Chain Saw fans — the original film debuted on that same date way back in 1974.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game takes place in the months leading up to the events of the original 1974 film, and features authentic recreations of the locations, characters, and imagery of the source material,” Gun said in a press release.

“Players control either the Victims or members of the Slaughter Family—including the infamous Leatherface—in a vicious game of 3v4 cat-and-mouse that takes the tension and suspense of the film and repurposes it into thrilling, competitive action.”

Those keen to play ahead of the August release date will be most interested in a special technical test that will take place across all platforms from 25 May.

“Eligibility for the test will be limited, but further details and instructions will be shared in the coming weeks,” Gun advised.

Expect The Texas Chain Saw Massacre from 18 August on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. The title will also be available on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
