Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have a day one patch

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have a day one patch that will address an issue with its game replay system.

Game Director Masahiro Sakurai made the confirmation with Famitsu (via ComicBook), saying the update is necessary only for those who’ve bought a physical version of the game. The patch has already been incorporated into the digital version’s download.

Sakurai said the patch is necessary to stop replays from “going off-track.” While the patch’s size wasn’t detailed, it isn’t likely to be all that large, going off Sakurai’s explanation of it.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate heads to Nintendo Switch on 7 December.
