Stephens College fields the first-ever all-women’s school Esports team

Stephens College has made history with the first-ever varsity-level Esports team at an all-women’s school. The college will start competing in Overwatch leagues this coming spring.

ESPN reports that administrators at the college began discussing the addition of Esports to its roster 16 months ago. Stephens College has joined the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) alongside 30 other scholarship-sponsored programs.

The Missouri, USA-based college will sport a roster of 12 players — 6 core players and 6 teammates who will remain on the bench. Those at the college who wish to try out can do so here.

Overwatch players are eagerly anticipating the start of the fifth season of competitive play. The title is available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
