Stellar Blade Blood Rain announced with trailer many believe uses AI

Cool?

Stellar Blade Blood Rain was announced at Summer Game Fest using a flashy new trailer that many fans believe uses AI.

Stellar Blade: Blood Rain marks the next chapter in the acclaimed action-adventure franchise being developed by the original team,” developer Shift Up said in a press release. “Set in the same universe as Stellar Blade, the next installment continues the story beyond the events of the first game, introducing new protagonist Evie and expanding the world in a bold new direction.”

Shift Up also advised it will publish the sequel, which it also admitted is in “early development”.

Since the release of the game’s announcement trailer, players have taken to social media to question it, alleging that AI was used in its creation.

“Nice AI-assisted trailer, maybe heavily assisted but polished afterwards,” wrote BxRockShooter on Twitter, attaching several screens that show a man’s temple losing hair before the man seemingly disappears altogether. The user then began a thread with more examples they believe to be AI.

“I feel it’s important to point out that this AI-generated piece of ‘key art’ for Stellar Blade Blood Rain is currently being shared on the social media accounts of Stellar Blade director and Shift Up CEO Hyung-tae Kim, who has publicly advocated for the use of AI-generated content in video games and has stated on the record that AI could allow ‘one person to do the work of 100 people.’,” added MGecko117 on Twitter.

At any rate, Stellar Blade is back, but not any time soon; we’ll have more on Stellar Blade Blood Rain as it’s available.
