Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order PS5, Xbox Series release coming this year

Free to those who own is on last-gen.

A proper Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order PS5 and Xbox Series S & X release is coming and will be free to those who’ve purchased the game on PS4 and Xbox One.

“Coming this summer [June-July 2021 in Australia], we’re excited to announce the next-gen release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, bringing a number of technical improvements to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions of the game,” a post on the Star Wars website reads. “This will be a free cross-generation upgrade to current owners.”

Curiously, Jedi Fallen Order has already been tweaked on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles, boosting it from from 45FPS (frames-per-second) to 60FPS. On PS5, the game is rendered at 1200p, while the Xbox Series X uses dynamic resolution to render render between 1512p and 2160p in Normal mode or 1080p to 1440p in Performance mode. This subsequent release will likely aim for higher resolutions and high framerates to boot.

We’ll let you know when the release is available.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5. It’s also available on EA Play and via Xbox Game Pass.
