Star Wars Hunters is a free-to-play game on Switch, mobile

May the force be with you.

Star Wars Hunters is a free-to-play multiplayer arena combat game that will head to Switch, iOS and Android devices later this year.

Showcased at today’s Nintendo Direct, Hunters was briefly shown and gave us glimpses of Stormtroops, bounty hunters and Rebellion heroes.

Players will be tasked to build a team of Star Wars characters before unleashing their squad against other players. It’s also been confirmed to be set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens… so maybe those aren’t technically Rebellion heroes.

Star WarsHunters draws inspiration from classic Star Wars stories and settings, but with a look and feel that is different from anything we have done before,” said Douglas Reilly, VP of Lucasfilm Games. “We’re thrilled to introduce this wildly creative cast of characters to our fans on Nintendo Switch, where they can join with their friends in thrilling battles at home or on the go.”

Developed by Zynga and LucasFilm, Star Wars Hunters has been confirmed for a 2021 release on Switch, iOS and Android. It’s also been confirmed that a Nintendo Switch Online membership isn’t required for the title on Switch.
