The Star Wars: Battlefront 2 beta starts tonight on PC, Xbox One and PS4, though it sadly won’t offer pre-loading before the big event.
The lack of a pre-load option has been confirmed thanks to a notice on Origin, EA’s PC gaming service. It lists the pre-load time as the same as the beta’s start time: 8.00 pm AEDST tonight, 4 October.
Moreover, Community Manager Kevin Johnson took to EA’s forums to confirm that the beta will not offer a pre-load option.
“[I] can indeed confirm that there will be no preload for the beta,” Johnson wrote. “Don’t worry, im [sic] sure you’ll get your fair share of playtime in on the beta though.”
This beta offering is only available to those who’ve pre-ordered the game; everyone else will have to wait until 8.00 pm AEDST on 6 October. Both the closed and open betas finish at 3.00 am AEDST on 10 October. It includes Galactic Assault on Naboo and Starfighter Assault on Fondor.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 17 November.
