Star Trek Outposts Unknown announced, with a demo available right now

Outposts Unknown is a "narrative-driven outpost builder" coming from Magic Fuel Games and Playstack.

Star Trek Outposts Unknown was today announced at Summer Game Fest, a “narrative-driven outpost builder” set in Star Trek Strange New Worlds‘ 23rd century. What’s more, a demo of the game is available right now on Windows PC via Steam.

“In Star Trek: Outposts Unknown, players take command of the outpost builder-ship, the U.S.S. Resonant, leading a crew across strange new worlds shaped by iconic Star Trek technology, scientific discovery, and interstellar mystery,” Playstack said in a press release. “As exploration expands across the system, a mysterious cosmic force threatens a new ally, requiring careful leadership, coordination of crew, and strategic planning.”

Moreover, a demo of the outpost builder is available right here on Steam.

Developer Magic Fuel Games is comprised of former devs of such titles as The Sims, Spore, and Sim City, and that sure shows with Outposts Unknown. In today’s press release, the team said it was “honoured to be expanding the final frontier—bringing the first-ever Star Trek colony-builder to PC and console.”

We’ve reached out to see which consoles will get a release; we’ll update you as more is known.

Star Trek Outposts Unknown is planned for a release on Windows PC via Steam alongside unnamed “consoles”.
