Star Trek Online offers Level 60 character, 2026 roadmap

One is definite, the other is more vague...

Star Trek Online is looking to re-energise or create players through a “Quick Start” scheme that offers a high-level character at the click of a button. Moreover, Arc Games and Cryptic Studios have also detailed what we can expect from the MMORPG throughout 2026.

Quick Start offers a free Level 60 Jem’Hadar character, gear, and ship

From now until 22 May here in Australia, Cryptic Studios said that anyone who engages with the game will receive a fully equipped Jem’Hadar character, ger, ship, and ship. Those existing players who do not want to claim the character will at least end up with a new character slot for the their troubles.

“This Quick Start character is pre-equipped with a powerful starship, high-level gear, bridge officers, and abilities that will get you back in the action right away,” Cryptic said to existing players. “This new character comes with its own character slot. If you are at max slots, this promotion will give you an additional, permanent character slot to create the Tactical Vanguard Jem’Hadar character while the event is running. Captains can keep this character slot, even if they delete the character.”

“When I returned to Cryptic, the first initiative I wanted to kick off right away for our games was this Quick Start event,” added new, returning CEO Jack Emmert. “One of our key initiatives this year and beyond is to make our epic worlds even more accessible and welcoming to every type of player – whether you’re a new player who’s just starting your adventure or a long-time veteran player who’s played our games since launch.”

“By offering a fully equipped, high‑level character that players can keep forever, we’re removing long‑standing barriers and giving returning veterans, curious newcomers, and time‑strapped fans a direct path to the heart of our games. At the end of the day, we want players to experience the pinnacle of what our MMOs offer — without feeling like they have to climb a mountain to get there,” Emmert continued.

Nearly identical Quick Start schemes are also available in Cryptic Studios’ games Champions Online and Neverwinter.

Star Trek Online gets a 2026 roadmap

Cryptic also used today to detail what players can expect throughout 2026 in Star Trek Online, though some of the information was pretty vague.

April is fully locked in: a Noble-class battlecruiser is the reward offered to players as part of a 60th anniversary First Contact event, as is the 16th Anniversary starship bundle on consoles. In Australia’s winter, we can expect an event focused on The Next Generation, alongside a new Klingon starship as seen on TNG and Lower Decks. Finally, August offers up a new, as yet undetailed Task Force Operation.

Star Trek Online is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, and PS4, also playable on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5 through backwards compatibility.
