Star Trek Online 3D starship printing available in March

Star Trek Online 3D starship printing will soon be available thanks to a partnership between Perfect World, Cryptic Studios and Mixed Dimensions.

12″ resin versions of Star Trek: Online‘s collection of 500+ starships will be available in a variety of formats. A fully painted model can be purchased, as can single-colour models or those primed and ready for the user to paint themselves.

Users can upload their own starship for recreation, or simply choose from one of 20 popular starship models. The Pathfinder-class long-range science vessel can be seen above.

“We are absolutely elated to expand Star Trek Online to the physical universe,” said Stephen Ricossa, Executive Producer for Star Trek Online. “Our new partnership with Mixed Dimensions will allow our community to immortalize their favorite starships. We can’t wait to see the reaction from our captains when the first wave of ships begins to roll out.”

“The Mixed Dimensions Game Print technology will introduce a powerful integral reality experience to Star Trek Online players for the first time,” said Muhannad Taslaq, CEO, Mixed Dimensions. “We are thrilled to be teaming with the amazing creative teams at Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios to deliver highly-detailed, fully customized ship models to Star Trek fans.”

If this news seems like a bit of deja vu, it is — Perfect World announced a partnership with Eucl3D back in September 2016 promising the same service. It’s unclear if the service was ever offered; we’ve gone to Perfect World asking for clarification.

Available in March, more details — including pricing and international availability — will be released soon.

Star Trek: Online is available on Windows PC, Mac, Xbox One and PS4.

Update: A Perfect World representative has confirmed with Stevivor that the original 2016 partnership with Eucl3D didn’t eventuate as the latter company closed its doors before production could begin.

The representative also confirmed international availability.
