Star Trek Legacy petition has more signatures than Strange New Worlds’

Make it so.

Fan demand for Star Trek Legacy continues, with a fan petition now amassing more signatures than one for Strange New Worlds.

As we’ve previously reportedPicard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas has said that Legacy is the name of a 25th Century spin-off he’d like to produce.

Matalas said the show would be one that “explores the Last Generation and the Next…”

While Matalas told fans the best way to encourage Paramount to greenlight Legacy would be to stream Picard Season 3, fans have taken to social media with the #StarTrekLegacy hashtag and a fan petition calling for the show.

At the time of writing, the Legacy petition has 33,333 (no, really!) signatures; upon its conclusion, a similar petition for a Star Trek prequel totalled just over 30,000.

The Strange New Worlds petition was integral for the greenlighting of the series, which is now approaching Season 2 and stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike.

While Star Trek Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman has said he’s heard fans “loud and clear” when it comes to Legacy, the show hasn’t been announced as yet.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
