Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto confessed to IGN that Star Fox Zero was going to get a super cool transforming Arwing starfighter amiibo that would alternate between air and land forms.
Unfortunately, the idea was scrapped over safety concerns.
“We weren’t able to turn that into a product that could meet safety guidelines for children,” Miyamoto explained.
“We had to give up on that idea, but maybe we’ll do something with it in the future. Who knows.”
Star Fox Zero is a Wii U exclusive, due out on 22 April.
