Smite Pro League 2015 comes to Oceania

It’s no secret that eSport is growing quickly in Oceania. This year has so far seen the establishment of a League of Legends Pro League, Australian CS:GO team Vox Eminor taking on the worlds best at IEM Katowice and professional Starcraft 2 player PiG battling his way through stiff competition in the Starcraft 2 World Championship Series Premier League.

Now Hi Rez Studios are throwing their hat in too, announcing the founding of a Smite Pro League in Oceania. Teams will be able to battle it out via three separate paths for their chance at a place at the 2016 Smite World Championship.

The best of the best teams will have their own separate closed ladder where they’ll compete for qualification into the Oceanic Regional Final. Several LAN events will also be held throughout each split as well as an online Open Ladder for any other teams who fancy their chances. The top teams from LAN and Open Ladder will then duke it in the Challengers Cup out for their place at the Oceania Regional Final.

Smite Oceanic Pathways

Split One of the Smite Pro League will run from March until June, and will serve as a “play in” split to find out just who are the best teams in Oceania. Much more will be on the line in Split Two, as winners of this split will cement their place at the Regional Final.
The Final itself will take place at PAX Aus later on this year, with the winner of that qualifying for the 2016 Smite World Championship, held in Atlanta, Georgia.

If you’re keen to take part then you’d best find a team as the start of Split One is just around the corner. Head to this site for full details on each split and to get registered.
