New Skyrim mod gets the game up to 60FPS on Xbox Series X

More power!

A new The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim mod has the game running at 60FPS on Xbox Series X.

The Uncap FPS Mod is described as a “simple ini tweak that disables vsync and removes the 30 FPS cap,” according to creator Smudgey5000. “60 FPS is possible with this mod enabled but it will not be a constant 60 FPS.”

The modder also advises that you “may have to quit the game to the dashboard and reopen for it to take effect. It shouldn’t matter where it is in load order but maybe put it under any other INI tweaks” and that it “works well with other performance mods like Disable God rays, FPS Boost, Insignificant Object Remover, etc.”

Reddit has tested the mod on Xbox Series X with great success, but also points out that there’s a specific way of enabling the mod without disabling in-game Achievements, as follows:

  1. Start the game and go to mods

  2. Download and enable the mod

  3. Restart the game and open mod menu again

  4. Disable the 60 fps mod and restart the game

  5. Play the game with 60 fps!

The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim is available on basically everything on the planet at this point.
