Samsung NVMe SSD 980 Pro: Australian prices and availability

Samsung has today detailed Australian availability and pricing for its new NVMe SSD 980 Pro range of solid state drives.

The range’s 250GB, 500GB and 1TB models are available today, with a 2TB model coming later in 2020. Local pricing is as follows:

  • 250GB SSD: $149 AUD
  • 500GB SSD: $245 AUD
  • 1TB SSD: $375 AUD
  • 2TB SSD: TBA

“Samsung continues to demonstrate its commitment to the SSD category, at less than 2mm thick the 980 PRO SSD features the latest V-NAND technology and a powerful Elpis controller to deliver next level performance in PCIe4.0 NVMe, offering reliability and system design flexibility,” said Matt Nelson, Business Unit Manager of Brand Memory at Samsung Electronics Australia.

“This next generation SSD is our fastest SSD to date. The 980 PRO has up to 100% better sequential read performance and up to 52% better sequential write performance than 970 EVO Plus,” Nelson continued. “The improved speed and reliability of the 980 PRO makes it a top choice for gamers and professional users who demand a high level of performance from their computers.”
