Star Wars Project Maverick pops up on PlayStation Store

An unannounced title called Star Wars Project Maverick has popped up on the PlayStation Store database, a new report suggests.

Twitter account PSN Releases says that Project Maverick has been added to the European PlayStation Store, complete with some promotional art, above. We don’t get a lot from the image, but it would suggest that Project Maverick will take place on or around Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith‘s Mustafar, and that some X-Wing fighters and a Star Destroyer will be involved in some way.

In addition to being featured in a Star Wars film, Mustafar is also the homebase of the villanous Darth Vader. Maverick might also suggest that we’ll be doing a lot of dogfighting as well — after all, it’s a bit of a fly-boy callsign.

Update: PSN Releases shared the entry’s content ID, and Gemastu has used it to uncover more information. The outlet has found at the entry is listed as a beta, isn’t compatible with PlayStation VR and is a multiplayer title.

Moreover, Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has confirmed that Project Maverick is being developed by EA Motive.

What do you think we’ll see from Star Wars Project Maverick? We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
