GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption remasters on hold at Rockstar, reports say

GTA 6 is more important.

Rockstar Games has placed planned Grand Theft Auto 4 and Red Dead Redemption remasters on hold in order to focus on Grand Theft Auto 6new reports today claim.

Insider Tez first took to Twitter with the allegations, saying, “As per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans, remasters of GTA IV & RDR1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind. The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision.”

Kotaku has corroborated the initial report, with Zach Zwiezen saying, “I can confirm that Tez’s tweet is accurate and lines up with what I’ve been told.”

The outlet continues that the projects aren’t fully “out of scope”, meaning they could be resumed in future.
