Borderlands Xbox One, PS4 releases outed by ratings board

The original Borderlands has been rated for both Xbox One and PS4.

The Korean Ratings Board has listed current-gen versions of the original Gearbox title earlier in the week.

If this is indicative of an actual release, it means that all last-gen versions of Borderlands will be available on current-gen consoles — Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel were bundled as part of The Handsome Jack Collection.

More importantly, the release of Borderlands on Xbox One and PS4 makes a Twitter thread by Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford far easier to understand. Pitchford warned Borderlands fans that Borderlands 3 wouldn’t be making an appearance at E3 2018. Perhaps this re-release will feature instead.

In all honesty regarding a Borderlands E3 reveal? Probably not. A Gearbox rep has said that there “there will be no Borderlands presence at E3 whatsoever.”

On the topic of Borderlands 3, the title has yet to be confirmed but is expected in 2020.

We’ll have more on the release of Borderlands on Xbox One and PS4 as it becomes available.
