Rocket League “100 percent” coming to other platforms

Rocket League developer Psyonix has stated that their rocket car soccer simulation will “absolutely, 100 percent” be coming to additional platforms. Talking to Gamezone, Psyonix VP of Marketing and Communications Jeremy Dunham explained that the original scope of a PS4 and PC release was due to the small size of their team, now the game is a huge success they can expand.

While not mentioned by name, the Xbox One is the likely destination for Rocket League. Dunham says “we will never say never to any of the platforms that are current-gen”, which likely rules out the Xbox 360 and PS3, leaving only the Xbox One and Wii U, so really only the Xbox One.

Cross platform play between PS4 and PC users has been a big drawcard for Rocket League, ensuring a great availability of matches, and is something that is unlikely to carry over with any Xbox version of the game. That’s a problem for another day, for now nothing is confirmed beyond Psyonix have an intent to bring Rocket League to other, as yet unnamed platforms.
