Rainbow Six Siege next-gen upgrade coming, free to current owners

Rainbow Six Siege is the latest current-gen title to have a next-gen upgrade confirmed, with Ubisoft today declaring it will be made free to those who currently own it.

The Xbox Series X and PS5 iterations of the game will display at 4K and offer 120 frames-per-second (FPS) with render scaling, Ubisoft confirmed. As the norm, it will also let players access currently purchased in-game content and all progression. Cross-play with consoles in the game ecosystem — Xbox or PlayStation — will also be possible.

Rainbow Six Siege is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; its Xbox Series X and PS5 version will be made available later in the year. Siege’s Shadow Legacy kicks off today and adds Splinter Cell‘s Sam Fisher to the mix.
