PS4 Quick Tip: Manage gameplay capture settings

Another quick tip about the PS4’s magic Share button for you all. By default the PS4 does not capture audio from the PlayStation Camera or headsets microphones, so if you’re wanting to provide commentary it won’t be captured. Never fear though, because it can of course be changed.

Simply press the Share button (or hold it down if you’ve changed Share button settings) to access the Share menu and press options. Select the video clip settings option. To ensure that any voice over is recorded make sure the “Include microphone audio in video clip” option is checked. Now you’re all set to commentate to your heart’s content.

Also available in the video clip settings menu is the option to turn on notifications for when the developer has prevented certain portions of gameplay from being captured (we’re thinking to prevent spoilers). Be checking this option the PS4 will notify you when a section of a game has disabled gameply capture.

The PS4 is available in Australia and New Zealand today, 29 November 2013.
