Pokémon Horizons TV show exclusive to 9Go! in Australia

Netflix? Nope.

Pokémon Horizons The Seriesthe newest TV show in the long-running franchise, will be exclusive to 9Go! here in Australia, The Pokemon Company has recently confirmed.

In Pokémon Horizons The Series, fans will meet new dual protagonists – Liko and Roy, as well as their partner Pokémon Sprigatito and Fuecoco, respectively – following the final chapter of Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu and their storied 25-season journey,” The Pokemon Company said in a press release. “The family-friendly, action-packed series will also follow other new characters like Friede and Captain Pikachu.”

The series is timed for Pokemon Day 2024, which takes place on 27 February. Why that day? It marks the 27th anniversary of the original Pokemon’s release.

“In celebration of Pokémon Day 2024, fans will be able to embark on an all-new Pokémon animated adventure when Pokémon Horizons The Series premieres in more markets early next year,” said Taito Okiura, vice president of marketing for The Pokémon Company International. “With Pokémon Horizons The Series being the first new animated series released in more than 25 years, both longtime Trainers and a new generation of fans can look forward to exploring the Pokémon world in a fresh and unique way.”

Elsewhere in the world, Pokémon Horizons The Series will air on Netflix from 23 Feb 2024 in the USA, and on Cartoon Network and Télétoon in Canada from 2 March 2024. You can take a look at the new series thanks to a trailer found below.
