Now that you’ve spent all your Club Nintendo stars, here come more cool store items

Nintendo sure know how to make gamers happy. First of all they announce the pending closure of Club Nintendo. no real loss for Australians as we would always miss out on the cool swag and downloadable games our international counterparts received. For those who resisted buying those last sticker sets and pencil cases, Nintendo announced last month a collection of downloadable games would finally come to the Australian store. Once we spent all our stars on Virtual Console games, Nintendo then released some cool Zelda swag just to troll us.

Now, if you somehow haven’t managed to spend your Club Nintendo stars you get the best rewards yet. Good things come to those who wait, as they say, though “only fools wait for that which they don’t know will arrive” also sounds like a wise proverb, even if I just made it up. The patient among us will soon be able to spend stars on a Captain Toad Lamp, Mario Kart 7 trophies or a Club Nintendo commemorative Goodbye Coin as well as plenty more.

No word on when Nintendo will let me spend my last 100 stars on their commemorative “f*ck you” coin (which presumably features Waluigi giving you the finger) but that’s okay as I’ll have a half dozen Virtual Console games to keep me warm at night instead. Trust Nintendo to not be able to close a terrible Australian Club Nintendo store without pissing us all off.
