Nintendo: We haven’t communicated Miitomo well

New Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima has admitted that the publisher has failed to do a good job explaining exactly what smartphone title Miitomo actually is.

Speaking with Time, Kimishima said, “I don’t think we have been able to successfully communicate what we’re trying to do at this point.” He revealed that the title’s delay into March 2016 was in order for Nintendo to properly prepare and market it.

From now until that time we’re going to be thinking about what we’ll do to promote this application, and what we can do to make sure that it is understood by our prospective consumers.

Finally, Kimishima said that Miitomo will be an important facet of Nintendo Accounts when they’re widely released next year. “We believe [Miitomo] is something that’s going to get people wanting to, through the use of these very well known Mii characters, speak and communicate with their friends.”

Miitomo will launch in March 2016. Nintendo Accounts will be available in Australia at the same time.
