Nintendo Switch OLED Edition coming 8 October for $539.95 AUD

Fancy a bigger screen?

The Nintendo Switch OLED Edition was announced overnight, a console with a larger 7″ OLED screen priced at $539.95 AUD here in Australia.

The updated Switch will also boast a LAN port in its new dock, allowing for wired connectivity, alongside 64GB of internal storage.

Available from 8 October, the same day as Metroid Dread, the Switch OLED Edition will come in white or neon red & blue.

Nintendo also confirmed that those who purchase a new Switch OLED Edition will be able to transfer digital games and save data from their original Switch. For more information on that process, head here.

Update: EB Games Australia has confirmed it will accept original Nintendo Switch devices in a trade-in, dropping the price of the Switch OLED Edition to $299.00 AUD. Switch Lite consoles are not part of the deal.

Update 2 [7 September 2021]: EB Games has appeared to modify its trade-in deal, now requiring two Switch games plus your old console to get an OLED Edition for $299.00 AUD.

Those who placed a pre-order under the original conditions will not have to cough up two games, EB has confirmed.

“All preorders placed up until COB Wed 1 September will be eligible for the OLED $299 [AUD] when you trade your Switch ($399 [AUD] with Switch Lite) deal,” an EB representative told Stevivor.

Are you excited about the Nintendo Switch OLED Edition or are you hanging out for something with proper 4K support?
