Nintendo raises price of Switch 2, Nintendo Switch Online, and Switch

Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, United States, and Europe are impacted for now.

Nintendo has raised the price of the Switch, Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch Online in regions including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, the United States of America, and Europe.

“In light of changes in market conditions, and after considering the global business outlook, Nintendo will revise the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices of the Nintendo Switch 2 system and Nintendo Switch systems,” the publisher said as part of a larger statement.

“Nintendo Switch Online is offered as a globally unified service, and pricing will be revised to support appropriate alignment among regions.”

The Switch 2 has been made more expensive in all regions detailed above, while Japan has also increased the price of the Switch in Japan as well. Additionally, Nintendo has only detailed price increases for Nintendo Switch Online in Japan.

Update: Nintendo Australia has now confirmed price increases in both Australia and New Zealand; the same post confirmed that “[p]ricing for the Nintendo Switch console is not changing.” Price changes go in place, locally, from 1 September; we’ve detailed changes below.

  • Nintendo Switch 2: $769.95 AUD, was $699.95 AUD

Nintendo price increases New Zealand

  • Nintendo Switch 2: $969.95 NZD, was $799.96 NZD

Nintendo price increases Japan

  • Japanese-Language System: ¥59,980, was ¥49,980
  • Nintendo Switch (OLED Model): ¥47,980, was ¥37,980
  • Nintendo Switch: ¥43,980, was ¥32,978 
  • Nintendo Switch Lite: ¥29,980, was ¥21,978
  • Nintendo Switch Online 12-month membership: ¥3,000, was ¥2,400
  • Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack 12-month membership: ¥5,900, was ¥4,900

Nintendo price increases Canada

  • Nintendo Switch 2: $679.99 CAD, was $629.99 CAD

Nintendo price increases USA

  • Nintendo Switch 2: $499.99 USD, was $449.99 USD

Nintendo price increases Europe

  • Nintendo Switch 2: €499.99, was €469.99
