New Steam library beta available to all

A new Steam library beta client is available for all Steam users to try out. We’ve got information on what’s involved and how to access the beta.

First, the new Steam library sports a completely new UI, allowing you to add games to shelves, or groups, or your own choosing. The new UI will also make it easier to understand which games have been updated recently and also when big in-game events are taking place.

How to join the Steam Library beta

Here’s how to join the beta if you’d like to take a look:

  • Open Steam
  • Go to Steam > Settings
  • Go to the Account tab on the left
  • Under Beta Participation, click CHANGE
  • Select Steam Beta Update
  • Click OK
  • Restart Steam

If you’re already part of the beta program, you can ensure you’re getting the latest update by doing the following:

  • Open Steam
