Sneaky sneaky, 343 Industries...
A new Halo audio log has been found, hidden within a new Halo Infinite update posted by developer 343 Industries.
Spotted and posted to Reddit by Redditor Haruspis, the audio log deals with the fallout left by Halo 5 Guardians. Spoilers continue.
The log features Dr Halsey and the Master Chief as they discuss what’s happened in the wake of Cortana’s rampancy.
“Right now, we are in survival mode, again,” Dr Halsey says. “Cortana’s message has spread across the galaxy; most sentient AI are siding with her.”
While Halo Infinite is said to be a spirital reboot of the Halo franchise, the audio log suggests that it will address the plotline established by Halo 5 Guardians. While Halo Wars 2‘s Banished are said to play a major part in the upcoming title, it looks like rogue AI will also be a factor.
Originally planned for late last year, Halo Infinite is now expected in the second half of 2021 on Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X and Windows PC.
