New Bluey game from Brisbane’s own Halfbrick out today on PC, consoles

Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen is out now.

Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen is the latest video game to feature everyone’s favourite anthropomorphic canine family, developed in part by Brisbane’s very own Halfbrick Studios.

Halfbrick worked with PM Studios and Radical Forge, in partnership with BBC Studios and Ludo Studio, for the new game that launched today on Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store alongside Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2.

“With fully animated cutscenes and characters woven into an all-new story written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen blends heartfelt storytelling with discovery-driven gameplay accessible for younger players while offering plenty for longtime Bluey fans and families to enjoy together,” reads a press release.

Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen features hand-drawn environments inspired by the ‘Dragon’ and ‘Escape’ episodes of the beloved TV series, and a new soundtrack composed and produced in-house by Halfbrick,” it continued. “Designed for family co-play, the console and PC release encourages families to explore together, share the controller and experience the adventure side-by-side.”

The title will set you back between $50-60 AUD, depending on platform.

Bluey’s Quest for The Gold Pen is now available on Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, alongside Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2.
