The next installment in the Need for Speed franchise, titled simply Need for Speed, will not feature microtransactions according to its publisher Electronic Arts. Developers Ghost Games have also stated that no paid DLC is currently planned for the game, rather they plan to “release a series of free content updates for Need for Speed” instead.
This could be a developing trend among publishers with triple-A titles with Square Enix claiming no microtransactions in their future releases either.
Need for Speed releases 3 November for Xbox One and PS4, but has been delayed until 2016 on PC.
