NBA 2K16’s MyCareer mode being directed by Spike Lee

Legendary filmmaker Spike Lee has confirmed that he will direct NBA 2K16’s MyCareer mode.

Speaking with USA Today. Lee confirmed his involvement with the title, announcing that he will write and direct MyCareer and bring his own style to the mode. “We follow a kid through the trials and tribulations of being a top high school player and the decisions he has to make,” Lee said.

2K spokesman Ryan Peters told USA Today that Lee had shot around 90-minutes of motion captured cinematic footage which will equate to 12 hours of game time. Peters said of Lee’s involvement, “We just told Spike, ‘You transform the narrative, and we’ll change that into digital polygons’. And he did that, bringing a protagonist and antagonist to the story.”

It was also revealed (via Steve Noah on Twitter) that NBA 2K16 will feature three cover stars; James Harden, Stephen Curry and Anthony Davis. Check them out below.

NBA 2K16 will be available 29 September for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
