Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition being submitted to the Classification Board

Warner Bros. Entertainment Australia today confirmed that Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition would be submitted to the Australian Classification Board following the successful introduction of the R18+ rating for video games.

The game – which originally went on sale in 2011 – was illegal to sell or purchase in Australia after it was Refused Classification by the Classification Board. At the time, the highest rating for video games was MA15+ and anything the Board felt exceeded the limits of the rating had to be Refused Classification. As was the case with Mortal Kombat.

Warner Bros. Entertainment Australia made the following statement today;

Warner Bros Entertainment Australia will be submitting the Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition for classification under the new R18+ classification category.

The publisher made no further comments about the title and it is unknown at this stage when the results of the classification will become public.

Fingers crossed hey?
