Microsoft Store, AIE partner to offer three-hour game design workshops in Sydney

The Sydney Microsoft Store will soon launch the Xbox Academy, “a videogame-fueled educational establishment” that runs over school holidays in April this year.

The program will launch in partnership with the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), and will offer three-hour workshops to eager game designers.

Course content includes:

  • Game Programming: How to Build an Adventure Game
  • Game Design: Design the Next Blockbuster
  • Develop Games on Xbox One S

Those that complete a free workshop will be given a certificate of completion for their efforts. Xbox swag will also be awarded to students.

The program will run over 10-22 April at the Pitt Street Microsoft Store in Sydney, and is open to any student after 14+. The workshops are free to those who register — you can do so here.

Have fun if you decide to register!
