Microsoft inviting select Live members to preview March’s Xbox One update

Major Nelson posted on Xbox Wire today announcing that Microsoft will be sending invitations to select Xbox Live members asking them to preview the latest Xbox One system update.

Those selected will receive a message in their inbox with a token allowing them to register. The update will be rolled out to registers users next week who’ll be able to try the new features included in the update as well as give feedback on a private forum.

The update coming in March is primarily designed around improving the Xbox One’s party system in preparation of the release of Titanfall. Those participating in the preview will not be able to use party features with other Xbox Live members not part of the preview. Once the updated is widely rolled out to all Xbox Live members those who are part of the preview will be once again able to connect with other players.

Microsoft recently pushed out an Xbox One update to display both storage space of the console and battery life for controllers. A small number of consoles were affected by a minor bug after the update causing the console to display a black screen. Microsoft advised that any affected consoles need to be power cycled for at least 10 seconds to solve the problem.
