Microsoft details Forza Horizon 2’s DLC program; eight free cars available at launch

Microsoft has announced today that Forza Horizon 2 will have both a VIP membership and a Season Pass.

The Forza Horizon 2 VIP membership gives players access to additional content otherwise unavailable. VIP members will receive the “VIP Car Pack” which includes the 2012 Lamborghini Urus, 2014 Tesla Model S, 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, 1949 Mercury Coupe, and the 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO. VIPs will also generate in-game rewards twice as fast, gain access to exclusive multiplayer events and special in-game gifts. The VIP membership is priced at $19.99 USD, but Forza 5 VIP members receive a 50% discount.

The Forza Horizon 2 Season Pass (or Car Pass as it’s known) will cost $24.99 USD and gives access to six monthly DLC packs. The content will start to be delivered in October and will continue through to March. Each pack will include five cars and Car Pass holders will also receive the 2010 Noble M600 as a bonus.

When Forza Horizon 2 launches 30 September, all players will be given the “Launch Bonus Car Pack.” The pack features eight cars and is free to all Forza Horizon 2 owners. The eights cars are the 2003 Ford Focus RS, 1997 Land Rover Defender 90, 1993 Clio Williams, 2015 Ford Mustang GT, 1987 Buick Regal GNX, 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 1968 Abarth 595 esseesse and 1956 Ford F-100.

Finally, a demo for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 is now live and can be downloaded from the Xbox Games Store.

Forza Horizon 2 will be available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One 30 September.
