Microsoft, Square Enix “very happy” with Rise of the Tomb Raider

In a post on Tomb Raider Forums, Game Director on Rise of the Tomb Raider Brian Horton has claimed that both Microsoft and Square Enix are “very happy with Rise and the dev team”.

In other posts, Horton points to the positive critical reception for Rise of the Tomb Raider (including several award nominations) and the delivery of the game on schedule as the metrics used to make that claim, notably steering well clear of sales figures.

Sales is the hot topic for Rise of the Tomb Raider thanks to the titles Xbox exclusivity and rumours of poor first week numbers. While Square and Microsoft should be happy with the reception, it remains to be seen if they are happy with sales.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out now for Xbox One and Xbox 360. Read our review here.
